The HITeC Unit combines Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement resources in addressing two forms of technology related crimes. Illinois Office of the Attorney General – High Tech Crimes Bureau/Illinois Child Exploitation Task Force
The High Tech Crimes Bureau coordinates the Illinois ICAC Task Force, which is comprised of prosecutors and investigators from over 180 Illinois-based federal, state, county and municipal agencies. Together with the Task Force, the High Tech Crimes Bureau conducts coordinated, multi-jurisdictional investigations and has been responsible for the arrest and prosecution of online sex predators. In addition to the investigative and prosecutorial work, the bureau also offers presentations on Internet safety and cyberbullying.
Indiana State Police – Cyber Crime Unit & Crimes Against Children Unit
The Indiana State Police assign detectives to specialize in cyber crime, child pornography, and developing intelligence information about criminal activity. There are also 28 trained Digital media Recovery Specialists who are utilized throughout the state on as needed basis to conduct on-scene computer previews.
Kansas Bureau of Investigations – High Technology Crime Investigations Unit
The High Technology Crime Unit is a team of specially-trained agents focused on the criminal use of computers and technology. This unit provides forensic computer examination services, training and technical support to local agencies and prosecutors.

Investigators from this unit concentrate their efforts on cases of online solicitation, scams and identity theft. The Cyber Crimes Unit helps process digital forensic evidence from cell phones and computers in its lab, reducing the turnaround time for investigators. The Cyber Crimes Unit also conducts regional trainings for law-enforcement officers and prosecutors in how to preserve and process this evidence.

Louisiana Office of the Attorney General – High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU)
The mission of HTCU is the investigation, interdiction and prosecution of all computer related crimes in the State of Louisiana. HTCU initiates its own proactive investigations into crimes involving computers and technology and consists of a computer forensics examiner specialized in analyzing and recovering cyber data. HTCU also arranges training sessions for local law enforcement officers to make them aware of the problems in cyberspace.

The Computer Crimes Unit investigates computer crimes, provides computer forensics services, and provides training, technical support and legal support to law enforcement officers and prosecutors throughout the State.
Maryland State Police – Computer Crimes Section
The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Section is responsible for coordinating the Maryland Center for Missing Children, the Computer Forensic Laboratory, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Child Recovery, and Computer Crimes.
