The Computer Crimes Laboratory, one of the founding members of the ICAC Task Force Program, is comprised of state and local police officers working in conjunction with computer forensic science examiners. Yale University Police Department – Information Technology Services (ITS) Unit and Investigative Services Unit
The Information Technology Services Unit aims to provide and maintain state-of-the-art computer hardware and software resources to assist members of the department in working efficiently, effectively, and safely. The ITS UnitÕs responsibilities include investigations, support in court hearings in conjunction with the State AttorneyÕs Office, laboratory examinations, and technology research that can benefit officers and command staff in the performance of their duties.
Delaware State Police – High Tech Crime Unit
The High Tech Crime Unit conducts comprehensive investigations involving computers and computer related technology. In 2007 the HTCU joined forces with the Delaware Attorney GeneralÕs Office, U.S. AttorneyÕs Office, and federal law enforcement agencies to form the Delaware Child Predator Task Force. This highly successful Task Force is responsible for coordinating online child exploitation investigations and prosecutions throughout the state as they proactively identify, arrest, and prosecute sexual predators who would use technology as a means to target and reach their victims.
Charlotte County Computer Crimes Unit
Directed by Lt. John Westlake, The Computer Crimes Unit investigates many computer related cases, performs forensic analysis on computers and also falls under the District Investigations Section.
Florida Attorney General Child Predator Cybercrime Unit
The Attorney General’s Cybercrime Unit includes law enforcement investigators and prosecutors whose primary mission is to target child predators, child pornography, and sexual exploitation of children using a computer, the internet, digital media, cellular phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), or any other electronic device. The investigators and the prosecutors in the Unit are specially trained in current technologies, tactics, and the law, and share their expertise through educational programs and with other law enforcement agencies.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement – Computer Crime Center (FC3)
The Florida Computer Crime Center provides mobile digital field forensics by way of the FC3 Evidence Collection for Technical Operations van (ECTO-1). This mobile platform was specially designed by computer experts to provide a field level forensic capability to cybercrime investigations or any investigation requiring the analysis of digital media. Capabilities include the imaging of computer hard drives, forensic previews of computers and other digital media for files of evidentiary value, cloning of cell phones and PDAs,
Leon County SheriffÕs Office – Financial Crimes Unit
Active members in the North Florida Cyber Crimes Task Force and InfraGard, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit consists of six detectives who are highly trained in the investigation of financial crimes, sex crimes against children, and online predators. It also conducts forensic analysis on computers and related peripherals. The Unit is highly dedicated to the detection and apprehension of fraud related crimes against the citizens of Leon County.
Cobb County Police Department – High Tech Crime Squad
The Cobb County Police High Tech Crime Squad is responsible for investigating computer crimes that include, but are not limited to, identity theft, fraud, invasion of privacy, computer trespass, and crimes against children. The unit is also responsible for providing digital forensic support to all of the investigative units within the department. The High Tech Crime Squad occasionally provides digital forensics support to outside agencies upon request.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation – Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit
The mission of Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit is to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in developing an effective response to cyber enticement, child pornography cases and child sex trafficking. This support encompasses forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance, victim services, prevention and community education.
FBI field office – San Juan Division
The FBI has 56 field offices centrally located in major metropolitan areas across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. These offices carry out investigations, assess local and regional crime threats, and work closely with partners on cases and operations. Within these field offices are a total of about 380 resident agencies located in smaller cities and towns.
