Department of Public Safety – Minnesota Financial Crimes Task Force
The Minnesota Financial Crimes Task Force (MNFCTF) protects and serves the public by investigating financial crimes related to identity theft, with a special emphasis on organized criminal enterprises. The MNFCTF is comprised of multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies working together to provide investigative expertise and resources. The MNFCTF works in partnership with local, state and federal agencies.
Office of the Attorney General Eastern District of Missouri – Cybercrime Unit
Assistant United States Attorneys in the Eastern District of Missouri routinely work with investigators, forensic examiners and other prosecutors at all levels of law enforcement to investigate cases, provide training and stay current on trends and technology. Additionally, the attorneys partner with USSS ECTF to regularly conduct outreach activities with schools, businesses and other law enforcement organizations to provide training and to develop relationships that are necessary to combat cybercrime effectively.
Kirksville Regional Computer Crimes Unit
The KRCCU is an affiliate agency with the Missouri ICAC Task Force and handles any criminal case involving illegal activity that has taken place involving a computer or related media devices. These cases often include, but are not limited to fraud, financial crimes, drug investigations, and the possession and distribution of child pornography.
Boone County SheriffÕs Department (serving mid-Missouri) – Cyber Crimes Task Force
The Boone County Cyber Crimes Task Force is a joint cooperative effort formalizing relationships between and among the participating agencies in order to foster an efficient and cohesive unit capable of addressing the problem of crimes committed through the use of computers and the Internet within the Mid-Missouri area. In addition, the Task Force provides programs to schools, civic organizations, businesses, churches, and other events in our service area regarding Internet crimes against children, ID theft,
Kansas City Police Department – Cyber Crimes Task Force
The Cyber Crimes Task Force was developed in 2002 to identify and prosecute online sexual predators who use the Internet to meet and exploit children and who produce, possess, or share child pornography. Detectives with the CCTF work on a multi-jurisdictional team and KCPD detectives submit cases for state or federal prosecution depending on individual circumstances.
Missouri State Highway Patrol – Digital Forensics Investigative Unit
The Digital Forensics Investigative Unit supports the Patrol and other law enforcement agencies in the investigation of a broad range of computer-related crimes. In addition to working Internet complaints, the Unit also receives computers, cell phones, and other digital devices for the purpose of gathering evidence for a case. The Unit has worked on computers involving homicides, arson, child pornography and drugs.
Missouri State Technical Assistance Team (STAT) – Missouri Child Fatality Review Program
STAT has commissioned law enforcement officers, available 24/7, who can provide hands-on assistance and support in conducting criminal investigations involving computer exploitation/child pornography, crime scene collection/ reconstruction, and conducting computer/digital/cellular forensic examinations. STAT promotes aggressive prosecution as a deterrent to child maltreatment, child exploitation and child homicide. In addition, STAT trains and supports the field-level intervention/investigative community to help realistically convert policy into practice.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department – Photography Section & General Assignment Unit
The Photography Section in the Crime Laboratory processes and prints photographs from digital media evidence received from multiple units, maintains digital photographs using the Digital Imaging Management (DIMS) and testifies in court concerning photographic evidence as needed. The General Assignment Unit detectives investigate felony thefts, credit card frauds, computer crimes, and bad checks. In addition, detectives teach fraud and theft prevention seminars to business and neighborhood groups.
Hawaii Internet and Technology Crimes Unit (HITeC)
The HITeC Unit combines Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement resources in addressing two forms of technology related crimes. First, the HITeC Unit investigates and prosecutes technology crimes against persons. These crimes include, but are not limited to, identity theft, check and checking account fraud, and Internet fraud.
