In March of 2012, Chief Joe Martin assigned an officer to investigate internet crimes against children, designated I.C.A.C., on a full-time basis. Detective Travis Wolfe is officially a part of two task forces, the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (I.C.A.C.) and the West Virginia Cyber Crimes Task Force, which is established and funded by the FBI. Detective Wolfe is working with the FBI, ICE, WVU, Marshall, and State and local law enforcement agencies to protect our children.

Naperville PD – High Tech Computer Crimes
This unit investigates computer and technology based crimes including sexting, cyber-bullying, computer tampering, internet crimes against children, undercover child pornography investigation, computer/internet based financial fraud and some community education on keeping kids safe on social media and the internet. This unit also investigates less serious offenses such as theft, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct.
San Francisco PD – Internet Exploitation Unit
The Juvenile and Family Services Division’s Internet Exploitation Unit investigates all cases involving the exploitation of children online. The Internet Exploitation Unit also facilitates education programs in San Francisco schools designed to develop online safety awareness.
Victoria PD – Cyber Crimes Unit
This unit has investigators extensively trained in a wide variety of subjects which include: Computer Crimes Forensic Analysis of Computers / Hard Drives Forensic Analysis of Electronic Devices Internet Crimes Against Children Child Pornography Internet Solicitation
Independence PD – Criminal Investigations Division
The division is comprised of four units: Criminal Investigations, Drug Enforcement, Crime Scene, and Career Criminal. Each unitÕs primary responsibility is centered around the follow-up investigation of criminal offenses.The Division is also actively involved with the Child Protection Center, the Jackson County Drug Task Force, Regional Cybercrimes Forensic Lab, the Metro Squad, FBI Cybercrimes Task Force, and the ATF Task Force.
Winchester PD – Computer Crime Unit
The Computer Crime Unit (CCU) provides forensic and investigative services to NEMLEC agencies and other law enforcement agencies if/as designated by the Executive Board. The unit is also responsible for training police in computer crime investigations, providing community-based Internet Safety Training and investigating all forms of crimes facilitated by the use of high technology (computers) within our jurisdictions. The unit in Medford serves Middlesex County, and Peabody serves Essex County.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office – Financial Crimes Unit
The Financial Crimes Unit partners with the Reno and Sparks Police department as well as the US Secret Service and the United States Postal Inspectors Service and Investigators from the State of Nevada in enforcement with the Northern Nevada Fraud and Identity Theft Task Force. The Financial Crimes Unit is part of the Washoe County SheriffÕs Special Operations/ Investigations Cyber Crimes section.
Winthrop Harbor PD – Cyber Crime Unit
The Cyber Crimes Unit (CCU) focuses on a wide array of criminal activity, including Internet and computer fraud, predators who are trying to harm Winthrop HarborÕs children, cyber bullying, cyber stalking and other forms of computer, Internet, and electronic crimes. The unit also works closely with federal, state and other local law enforcement, and industry members including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the National White Collar Crime Consortium (NW3C) to develop,
Arlington PD – Economic Crimes Unit
The Economic Crimes Unit (ECU) investigates fraud related offenses to include forgery, credit/debit card abuse, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, counterfeit merchandise, and certain computer crimes. The ECU also houses the Digital Forensics Lab. Created in 1999, the Digital Forensics Lab is responsible for examining and processing electronic evidence that is collected from a wide variety of investigations.
Greensboro PD – Computer Forensics Unit
Detectives in the computer forensics unit assist in the investigation process of computer crimes.
