St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department – Photography Section & General Assignment Unit

The Photography Section in the Crime Laboratory processes and prints photographs from digital media evidence received from multiple units, maintains digital photographs using the Digital Imaging Management (DIMS) and testifies in court concerning photographic evidence as needed. The General Assignment Unit detectives investigate felony thefts, credit card frauds, computer crimes, and bad checks. In addition, detectives teach fraud and theft prevention seminars to business and neighborhood groups.

Illinois State Police Internet Crime Unit

The ISP Internet Crimes Unit was established to fight internet crime, protect families and communities from sexual predators and give law enforcement the tools and resources they need to go after criminals. The ICU is dedicated solely to combating online crime, including identity theft, child pornography and drug solicitation. The ISP also uses NetSmartz as its primary internet safety educational tool to the public.

Illinois Office of the Attorney General – High Tech Crimes Bureau/Illinois Child Exploitation Task Force

The High Tech Crimes Bureau coordinates the Illinois ICAC Task Force, which is comprised of prosecutors and investigators from over 180 Illinois-based federal, state, county and municipal agencies. Together with the Task Force, the High Tech Crimes Bureau conducts coordinated, multi-jurisdictional investigations and has been responsible for the arrest and prosecution of online sex predators. The Cyber-Crime Unit consists of one Special Agent in Charge, six Special Agents and one Computer Forensic Examiner Criminalist who are armed with the finest technology available to law enforcement.
