Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit – Rhode Island Cyber Disruption Team

The Rhode Island Cyber Security Initiative works to address gaps in protecting critical infrastructure within Rhode Island from cyber attacks and cyber terrorism related events. The investigators prevent, protect against, detect, respond to and assist in the recovery of cyber terrorism related incidents. The Initiative also assists in the assessment of risks to Rhode Island’s critical cyber-infrastructure, identifying potential means of cyber attacks and recommending protective controls for critical information systems.

Pennington County SheriffÕs Office – Computer Crimes Unit

The Pennington County SheriffÕs Office is partnered with the Rapid City Police Department and the State Division of Criminal Investigation, and started a forensic computer unit to investigate crimes utilizing the internet and computers. The Unit is comprised of Investigators from the Pennington County SheriffÕs Office, Detectives from Rapid City Police Department and Agents with the State Division of Criminal Investigations.

Office of the Attorney General – Cyber Crime Unit

The Unit proactively seeks out and arrests child predators who commit sex crimes against children using technology and the Internet. The Unit works in coordination and cooperation with public and private entities dedicated to the detection and prevention of online child exploitation. The Unit trains law enforcement personnel and teaches cyber safety awareness to school administrators, students, and the general public.
